It’s All About Presentation: Tips for Increasing Your Online Sales

Are youIncrease Online Sales disappointed at your low online sales volume and/or lack of repeat visitors?

If so, your problem may not be your product so much as your presentation. A great product can be lost if it’s presented in a way that doesn’t grab the viewer’s attention and keep him interested. Even a so-so product can sell like hotcakes if the presentation is right.

With that in mind, take a hard look at your website and ask yourself whether it’s designed to sell. Start by assessing some basics that, when done right, can help increase website sales exponentially.

Usability—

A website’s usability is determined by how easy it is for a first time user to accomplish what he wants to while he’s navigating through the content.

Websites that excel in usability offer easy and consistent navigation, text links, linked logos, search boxes, and brand consistency. Test your site with first time users to find out what aspects may be confusing or misleading.

Compelling Content Optimized for SEO—

Your best tool to increase website sales is your content. In order for people to see that content, however, they’ve got to find you among the millions of websites available that deal with similar products or topics.

To be found online, you’ve got to incorporate search engine optimization (SEO) techniques into your written copy. SEO uses strategically placed keywords to attract the attention of a search engine and communicate your site’s relevance to a given search term.

Fresh content—

Once people have found your site, you want them to keep coming back. Hold their interest by providing fresh new content on a regular basis.

Informational articles, blogs, testimonials, and product reviews all give viewers a reason to keep visiting your site, giving you the chance to increase website sales. Place the most recent and most important content front and center on your website so readers don’t have to dig to find it.

Call to Action—

Don’t make readers search for the way to take the next step. Give them a great big “Subscribe Now” or “Buy Now” or “Donate Now” button that takes advantage of color and white space to attract the eye.

Links—

Make sure all the links on your website deliver on promised information. Increase website sales by eliminating all broken links and making sure you use appropriate text for your links.
